The Ivy Link Spring Tea Party

What an amazing Tea Party we had for senior alumnae and former staff of the school after a three year break due to the pandemic; an event that is always a highlight.  For the first time the event was held in the Holt Hall foyer which proved to be a fantastic venue. The tables were set with a delicious traditional afternoon tea, bunches of daffodils everywhere and Union Jacks in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee on what was a particularly beautiful spring day.

Our guests spent a delightful couple of hours reacquainting themselves with old friends and classmates, sharing memories. Our new prefect team mingled well with our guests, engrossed in tales of Croydon High in bygone days. Younger pupils who participated in the Ivy Letters Project surprised their ‘pen pals’ with a brief visit. As if that wasn’t enough, we also celebrated the 92nd birthday for one of our guests, former staff member Daphne!

Our guests made their way to the Holt Hall where Mrs Pattison gave a very warm welcome, updating them on all the latest news from the school giving assurance of how much our community appreciates the support of the Ivy Link.

We were entertained with some wonderful individual musical performances from Y6 Naiha – cello, Anushka -piano and Daisy -violin plus Y4 Holly – voice. Y4 Amena, Y5 Juno and Y6 Sara amused the audience with their poem recitals followed by Y11 Shenai, Olivia and Y10 Fallon who sang  Love You Dearly and Secret Love from Calamity Jane.

Thanks to all who came and all who worked so hard to make this such an enjoyable occasion. Particular thanks as always to our catering team, premises team and our sixth form girls.

“I am writing to give you my warmest thanks for yet another splendid event. It was good to meet some old acquaintances, and it was a most elegantly served tea, and a delightful entertainment! I was very impressed with the sixth form girls who were there.”

“Thank you so much for a really fantastic afternoon. As ever your organisation was brilliant, we were all made to feel so welcome and cared for.  Please pass my thanks to everyone concerned with the delicious “eats”, the wonderful entertainment, and lovely welcome from the ground staff.”

“Thank you all so much for the very enjoyable Tea party today. The tea was delicious, and the entertainment was so delightful. Please thank everyone involved to make the Tea party such a success.”
