Winter at Little Ivy’s Stay and Play

Reindeer, Christmas trees, Father Christmas, snowmen (and of course, snow ladies) – our theme this term was all about winter and in keeping, even our numbers ‘snowballed!’ Our Little Ivy’s community has grown and grown with record highs of 45 toddlers plus their carers attending sessions. Over the past year we have introduced more imaginative crafts using different media and a wide range of sensory activities to reflect Croydon High School’s learning ethos, now everyone wants a piece of it and a piece of our pastry chef’s wonderful cakes! To cope with high numbers, there are now six ‘tables’ in our craft area; main craft, playdough, painting, printing, sensory play and water play.

Our Facebook community has also snowballed with followers reaching 167, great for informing our toddlers and carers of dates but also worth a look if you are looking for a ‘crafty craft idea’ over the holidays.  https://www.facebook.com/littleivys/

Little Ivy’s Stay and Play would not be a success without the wonderful support from the Croydon High School community. Thank you to catering, maintenance, Nursery, cleaning, staff and pupils, toddlers and their carers for their continued support. We have received donations of toys, dress up clothes and even two rolls of paper tablecloth for our craft tables from the PTA! Little Ivy’s Stay and Play did their best making ‘thank you cards’ for everyone but little toddler fingers get very tired after decorating six giant cards.
