Confidence Club | Croydon High School

Sometimes the only thing holding girls back is a lack of confidence in themselves, in their abilities or in the importance of their ideas. The Confidence Club is a programme of weekly sessions which focus on building confidence in girls through inspirational teaching and learning.

Croydon High girls also get involved in the programme, offering support and encouragement to the younger girls.

Examples of the sessions we have run include:

  • Finding a way to show your ideas and how you think and feel through Drama.
  • Using poetry and performance to present your ideas to others.
  • Expressing who you are and what others see through Art
  • Speaking out – looking at the Amnesty movement and how we can offer a voice to those without one.

“Confidence Club at Croydon High has been an invaluable experience for my daughter and I have loved hearing about what she has learnt and how much fun she has had each week. The club has really helped empower her and her confidence had grown immensely.”  Parent 2018 Programme

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time at Confidence Club and gained so much from the time with you all. Parent 2019 Programme

“I had a lot of fun at Confidence Club and liked all of my teachers. My favourite part was the lesson on the amnesty movement where we performed a protest for the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe from an Iranian prison. I have learnt a lot from my time here and I had fun along the way”. Ellie, participant Summer 2018
