Royal Russell School International MUN 2025

33 Pupils from Croydon High took part in the 43rd annual Royal Russell International MUN (RRS IMUN), taking place over October half term.

Model United Nations is an activity where pupils will be given a country to represent, and they put forward their views when debating key issues that the United Nations are currently addressing. Our pupils debated issues ranging from assessing the environmental impact of training AI models, discussing whether the IMF needs reform, and whether Private Military Companies should face increased global regulation.

The conference took place over four days from the 18th to 21st of October, and the students enjoyed a variety of activities from lobbying their country’s position, making speeches to get their points across, negotiating solutions to the issues their committees were debating, and some time to relax at social events in the evenings.

Our pupils had the opportunity to engage in debate with students from all over the world as schools from across the UK, Europe, the United States, and Japan were present at the conference.
