Despite the very high temperatures, Croydon High students took part in a successful and engaging Model United Nations conference at Bishop Thomas Grant School. Throughout the day, students debated a wide range of challenging global issues, from the rights of prisoners to the ethics of extracting minerals from Mars. They worked alongside pupils from ten other schools, developing their confidence in public speaking, negotiation, diplomacy and formal debate.
The conference was a fantastic opportunity for students to represent different countries, respond to complex international problems, and work collaboratively with delegates from other schools. Croydon High students conducted themselves brilliantly across the committees and should be very proud of the way they contributed to debate throughout the day.
