Croydon High was honoured to welcome back a true school legend, former Head of PE Sheila Plant, to celebrate her 90th birthday. Sheila, who dedicated nearly three decades to the school between 1963 and 1992, was the guest of honour at a special afternoon tea hosted by Head Annabel Davies.
The occasion was a wonderful celebration of Croydon High’s sporting history, bringing Sheila together with former Head of PE Sue Dassie, as well as our current Director of Sport, Libby Head, and Head of Community and Outreach, Sue Beck. Also in attendance to share their well-wishes were Fran Cook (Director of Philanthropy and External Relations) and Hope Elkins.
The highlights of the afternoon included a stunning bespoke cake created by our talented catering team and the presentation of a beautiful memory book. Filled with photographs and heartfelt messages from former pupils, the book served as a moving testament to the lasting impact Sheila has had on generations of Croydon High girls. It was a truly touching afternoon that perfectly captured the enduring strength of our school community.
