Black History Month: Books, Bingo and more!

Croydon High celebrated another successful Black History Month with a display of new books, reading lists, bingo, creative activities and our annual Beat-The-Clock Quiz. The activities were available throughout the month and during the half-term break.

Pupils showed interest in our new books which formed part of the display relating to black history from activists to education, arts, science and culture.

The Black History Month Bingo was popular with pupils from Years 7 to 9. The bingo included questions about authors, inventors, scientists, sportspeople, geography and music. An LRC stamp was given for each activity and a prize was awarded on completion of the whole sheet. There were some very interesting entries – especially the range of books chosen and read.

We had 14 teams for the quiz and almost 60 participants (including members of SLT). The LRC was a hive of concentration and activity! Additional teams who were unable to join the quiz at lunchtime due to clubs etc., completed the quiz during Late Club. Prizes of books, bookmarks, chocolates and sweets were enjoyed by all!
