Croydon High’s Class of 2026 have delivered the school’s best-ever A Level results, with over 62% of all grades awarded at A*/A.
The A* grade specifically recognises the most able students at the very highest level of academic achievement, so the school is enormously proud that nearly a quarter of this year’s grades are at this highly aspirational level of A*.
Additionally, 92% of grades were at A*-B grades, including exceptional performances across a wide range of subjects. This statistic represents an 8% uplift on last year’s already impressive results.
According to The Times A Level Results League Table 2026, we are proud to announce that Croydon High School ranked 22nd in the league table, making it into the Top 25 Sixth Form in the UK and Top Sixth Form in Croydon.
We are thrilled that eight subjects recorded straight A*/A grades for all pupils. This clearly represents the school’s commitment to encouraging and supporting pupils to aim high and believe in their potential.

For Head, Annabel Davies, these results represent not only the exceptional hard work of the year group but also the dedication of a staff body committed to enabling girls to aspire, and achieve, without limits.

Beyond their academic achievements, this year group has shown exceptional leadership, teamwork, and initiative. They have thrown themselves into school life, involving themselves in projects that have meaningfully enriched the entire school community. It is the development of these essential skills, alongside their academic credentials, that will ensure they go on to enjoy happy and rewarding futures – and this is what we wish for them all.”

These pupils, with others in their year group, will be taking up places at some of the country’s top universities, including Oxford, Durham, UCL, Warwick and King’s College, London, and a prestigious degree apprenticeship. Their destinations are aspirational and diverse and they have certainly earned the right to move on with pride in all they have achieved.
As ever, every set of grades represents a unique journey and within this cohort, there are many individual stories of determination and aspiration that are truly inspiring.
Penelope joined Croydon High in Nursery and is therefore recognised as a Crystal Ivy – the name the school gives to those pupils who have been at Croydon High since Nursery or Reception. Throughout her time with us, Penelope has been exceptionally motivated, not only academically, but in every way, to contribute to school life and the wider community. We are absolutely delighted that Penelope has achieved her ultimate ambition and with exceptional grades in French (A*) Spanish (A*) Government & Politics (A*) and English Literature (A) will be reading French and Spanish at New College, Oxford. She takes with her all our congratulations and we look forward to following her journey.
Another Crystal Ivy pupil and an exceptional linguist is also celebrating the end of one wonderful journey – and the start of another. Elsa is heading to the University of Edinburgh to read Law and German with exceptional grades in English Language(A*) and A grades in German, History and Psychology. Congratulations, Elsa.

The school’s strength in STEM is also reflected in the achievements and destinations of this year’s pupils. Shamika achieved A* grades in Computer Science and Mathematics, alongside A grades in Further Mathematics and Physics. She will go on to study Electronic Engineering through a degree apprenticeship with the UK Atomic Energy Authority, in partnership with the University of Warwick.
As one of the most exceptional sportswomen Croydon High has ever taught, Hollie has always made her school proud, in the classroom and on the playing field. A hugely talented footballer with Charlton U21’s, Hollie has also demonstrated her determination and dedication academically, with a hat trick of A* grades in Biology, Psychology and PE. Reading Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough will be the next step for what we know will be a bright and exciting future. Hollie will be a huge asset in any arena and we send her on her way with every good wish.

“Hollie has had a fantastic seven years at Croydon High and we couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved. Hollie has had a great time at Croydon High and has been very well supported throughout. The teaching staff have been brilliant, not just academically but across the sporting side as well. She has had lots of opportunities to develop her talents, and we are very grateful for all the support she has received.”
Eleanor will deservedly be celebrating her outstanding results of A* grades in History and Economics and an A in Politics, securing her offer at Nottingham to read Politics and Economics. Eleanor’s talents and dedication to whatever she sets her mind to, will undoubtedly secure continued success and we look forward to watching her journey onwards.

“Eleanor joined Croydon High in Year 9, and our only regret is that she didn’t join in Year 7. She has loved her time here and has really thrived. She has come out of her shell and had nothing but support, encouragement and nurturing from her amazing teachers. We’re so happy for her and incredibly grateful for how supportive everyone has been.”
As the recipient of the hugely competitive GDST Lorna Cocking University Scholarship for 2026, Chloé had already proven herself as an exceptional scholar. Her A Level results have only confirmed this, with A* grades in Computer Science and Latin and an A in English Literature securing her place at UCL, to read Classics and the Ancient World. This subject has long been a passion of Chloé’s and we know she is going to continue to thrive in this new and exciting world.
Chloé’s A Level subject combination is one of many examples of girls who have chosen and been supported in subjects that they love, representing the breadth of their interests and the ability to achieve excellence across the board.
This diversity of subject excellence is also clear in the large number of subjects recording straight A*/A grades. Pupils studying Art, Computer Science, Geography, French, German, Latin, English Literature, and PE all achieved clean sweeps of these top grades, and the entire teaching staff at Croydon High should feel exceptionally proud of their efforts.
It is particularly pleasing to see pupils who have held long-standing ambitions to study specific subjects realise their dreams, through their own efforts and the unstinting support of their teachers.
Grace, an exceptionally gifted singer has moved us all with her vocal performances at school events over the last few years and we are delighted that her talents will continue to be nurtured at the highest level as she takes her place at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Congratulations Grace.
