Despite our name Croydon High School has been located in Selsdon since our move from central Croydon in 1966. Selsdon is a quiet, pleasant town in the southern suburbs of the London Borough of Croydon.

We have good parking facilities on-site and in residential roads around the school.

We operate an efficient drop-off system for parents choosing to drive their children to school, which has been designed to minimise congestion and maximise pupils’ safety.

We also have a cycle rack for pupils who wish to cycle to school.

Public Transport Links

Our nearest railway stations are South Croydon and Sanderstead, with the central hub of East Croydon just about 20 minutes away by bus. There are also good bus and tram links with the nearest tram stop just a short bus ride away at Gravel Hill.

Students between the ages of 11 and 16, who live within the London Borough of Croydon, enjoy free travel on buses and trams and so many girls take advantage of this and travel to school by bus.

Bus routes 433, 64, 409, 359 and 412 all have stops within a short walk from the school gates.

School Minibus Routes

The school operates a number of minibus routes and we will always endeavour to accommodate new requests within our existing network, or, where demand arises to introduce new routes.

Following the COVID-19 emergency, all our services have been reviewed to ensure they are COVID secure – more details can be found here.

Currently we offer return routes from the following areas:

  • Banstead via Coulsdon
  • Wallington via Purley
  • Shirley Oaks
  • Beckenham
  • Bromley
  • Norbury
  • Oxted and Caterham
