Sports Scholarship – Year 7

Sports Scholarship Information (Year 7: 2026)

At 11+, sports scholarships may be awarded to girls with significant strength in sports offered at Croydon High School or outstanding all-rounders. Candidates must pass the school’s entrance exam. Shortlisted applicants will attend a sports assessment day showcasing their skills in netball, hockey, athletics, swimming, and optionally in cricket, football, gymnastics, dance, and tennis.

Application Deadline: 17 October 2025
Initial Sports assessments: Week commencing 10 November 2025
Second Sports assessments: Week commencing 24 November 2025

PE Scholarship Roles and Responsibilities:

• Represent the school in at least one winter and one summer activity
• Attend practices, fixtures, and assist at junior clubs
• Represent the PE department at events (Open Days, etc.)
• Lead clubs in Key Stage 4 and mentor younger scholars (Sixth Form)

Required Kit for Assessment:

• Tracksuit, trainers, skirt or shorts, swimming costume, hat, and goggles
• Additional kit for optional sports (gymnasts/dancers may bring music for routines, tennis racket, hockey stick, shin pads, gumshield).
