At 13+ (Year 9) Art & Design scholarships may be awarded (as part of the Academic Plus Year 9 Scholarship Award) to girls showing outstanding ability and potential. Art & Design scholars must pass the school’s entrance examination.

All girls interested in the scholarship are required to indicate this on registration. Scholarship application forms can be downloaded from the website or requested from the Admissions Registrar. Girls should submit their application form with a portfolio containing five pieces from a small sketchbook. No additional pieces of work will be considered. The portfolio should include at least one drawing and one painting. The other items may be art or craftwork.

We would appreciate if the art portfolio could be sent through as a digital portfolio (Google Slides if possible with a maximum of 5 slides of work, 3 slides for any close-ups, and 5 slides for any sketchbook entries), along with the completed scholarship application form, and emailed to: admissions@cry.gdst.net.

A signed statement from a parent or teacher should be included with the application confirming that the work is the student’s own and that it has been unaided. Applications will be shortlisted to those who have demonstrated scholarship potential. These girls will be invited to school to meet our Head of Art and to take part in an observational drawing task.

The application form with the digital portfolio must be submitted by 12 December 2025. The final art assessment will take place on 5 February 2026.
