A Level Results 2025 | Croydon High School

Croydon High celebrates 150th Anniversary with the best A Level results in the school’s history

After a year of celebrations, staff and pupils enjoyed a fitting finale to Croydon High’s 150th year, announcing the strongest A Level results in the school’s proud history.

With 57% of grades awarded at the highest A*A grades and over one third of all pupils achieving straight A*/A grades, Croydon High’s commitment to enabling girls to aspire without limits is very clear.

The A* grade is specifically designed to distinguish the most able students at the highest level of academic achievement, and so the school is enormously proud that 21% of this year’s grades are at this highly aspirational level.

Head Annabel Davies was clearly delighted, saying, “In a year when we have spent a lot of time looking back at the inspirational history of our school, after 150 years of educating girls in Croydon, it is wonderful to be celebrating our future today. The Class of 2025 represents the very best of Croydon High; hard-working, aspirational and multi-talented, we know they will be going out into the world with the capacity to bring about truly positive change.”

The following pupils are to be warmly congratulated on achieving straight A* and A grades – academic achievement at the highest level.

Very well done to Keira, Freya, Alice, Mimi, Malina, Delia, Jessica L, Isla, Lucy M, Penélope, Aashka, Anaya, Bea, Lexi, Louise, Lucy R and Anisha.

Oxbridge Bound

The school is particularly proud to announce that there will be representation from Croydon High at both Oxford and Cambridge this year.

After her exceptional results of A* grades in English Literature, French and German, Malina will be taking her place at Churchill College, Cambridge to read Modern and Medieval Languages, specifically French and German. Her success is thoroughly well deserved; Malina has always excelled academically but her ability is matched by a strong work ethic and true dedication to her studies. Congratulations, Malina!

Another talented linguist, Louise, is on her way to Oxford armed with outstanding A* grades in Spanish and German and the addition of an A in Mathematics. Louise, who has been at Croydon High since Nursery, is an exceptional scholar who has always set her sights high with results that match her aspirations. She will be studying German and Beginner’s Italian at Pembroke College, Oxford – many congratulations, Louise!

Smashing stereotypes

Aashka’s love of Mathematics looks set to continue as her A* grades in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics, alongside an A* in Computer Science and an A in Chemistry, suggest she is opting for the right degree! Aashka will take her place, reading Mathematics, at the University of Durham in September. An exceptional student, she takes with her the best wishes of all at Croydon High.

Aashka’s choice of subjects clearly reflects the strength of Mathematics and Computer Science at Croydon High. These subjects, which are frustratingly still regarded as male-dominated, are extremely popular amongst A Level students here, and the girls achieve excellent results.

This year, a third of the cohort opted to study Mathematics with almost 70% achieving A* or A grades. In Computer Science, 100% of all pupils achieved A* or A grades.

Achieving Dreams through Drive and Ambition

Delia’s dream of studying Psychology at Bath was never in doubt as far as her teachers were concerned; her hard work combined with natural talent has always been evident. But achieving A* grades in all three subjects, Psychology, Sociology and Spanish, confirms that she simply could not have done better! An outstanding pupil in every sense, we wish Delia all the very best in the future.

Isla’s passion for science could have led her in a number of directions and she was certainly a ‘star’ in Croydon High’s Astrogazers Club, playing a pivotal part in the many achievements of this team. But Isla had her heart set on Medicine and it is Medicine she will be studying at the University of Exeter. Her phenomenal results – A* in Biology, Computer Science and Maths and an A in Chemistry – secure her place and no doubt her future; we know Isla will continue to inspire and excel. Many congratulations, Isla.

Every girl, every day

Breadth of opportunity and interest is something the school prides itself on, and this is reflected in the exceptional grades achieved in a number of diverse subjects. For example, as well as Computer Science, grades in Art, Spanish, French and Geography were all A* or A, representing extremely high attainment across the board.

Annabel Davies referred to the school’s mantra of every girl, every day, saying:

“Our commitment is to ensure that every single girl in our care has the opportunity to not only discover their dreams, but to be supported every day as she aspires to achieve them. With pupils studying a range of courses from Medicine to Architecture and Psychology to Mathematics, we pride ourselves on developing their individual skills and talents. We are also so delighted that several pupils have accepted prestigious degree apprenticeships at top UK organisations.

We are exceptionally proud of the Class of 2025, not only for their academic success, but for their enormous contribution to the life of the school, particularly during our 150th anniversary year. We wish every single one of them the very best as they take the next steps on their journey.”
