Years 4 and 10 Maths Carousel
March 23, 2026
Year 4 and Year 10 took part in a fantastic Maths collaboration session. In the lead-up to the event, Year 10 worked hard to plan and prepare a variety of engaging Maths games and challenges. These activities provided our Year 4 pupils with a fun and interactive way to develop their mathematical thinking.
Year 4 pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience:
“It was exciting playing different games with Year 10 and answering different questions.” – Jaya
“I enjoyed Maths with Year 10 because they were very encouraging when we found things difficult.” – Mesi
“It was really fun! All the games were so creative and unique!” – Myra C
“I loved every single bit of it!” – Ananya
“My favourite game was the giant snakes and ladders. It helped me see Maths in a different way.” – Emma
Year 10 students also found the experience rewarding:
“I really enjoyed using a more practical approach to Maths, and I never thought entertaining Year 4s would be as much fun for me as it was for them!” – Frema O
“Personally, I found the morning to be an interesting experience as it allowed me to learn and discover new ways of teaching information that I hadn’t thought of before. Also, the experience helped to encourage my imagination and creativity when it comes to making projects such as my maths board game which I made with my partner.” – Chloe H
“A wonderful experience seeing them thrive through challenges as a team.” – Mal M
“It was an opportunity to not only interact with younger years, but to also challenge my group and I to create a game that was engaging, fun and also tested their maths skills!” – Aaliya G
It was a great session, and it was wonderful to see both year groups working together, sharing their enthusiasm for Maths, and building confidence through collaboration.
