Curiosity Comes Alive at British Science Week

March 23, 2026

Last week, we celebrated British Science Week with a special assembly linked to this year’s theme of Curiosity. A group of enthusiastic Lower Sixth pupils from the Senior School’s science department visited the Junior School to deliver a series of exciting live experiments. Separate assemblies were held for Early Years/Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, allowing everyone to enjoy the demonstrations safely while watching from a distance, with goggles provided for some of the experiments. The highlight for many pupils was the spectacular Elephant’s Toothpaste experiment, which created a dramatic eruption of foam and captured everyone’s attention. The event was also a wonderful example of collaboration between the Junior and Senior Schools, with the younger pupils clearly inspired by the older students and eager to follow in their footsteps as future scientists.
