Hannah Schmitz: The Mueller Schmitz F1 Corner
February 27, 2026
Hannah has now become one of the first women, alongside Laura Mueller, to have an F1 circuit corner named after them, with Turn 6 to be dedicated to them at the Australian Grand Prix in celebration of International Women’s Day.
After leaving Croydon High with straight A’s in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Spanish, Hannah went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Cambridge University, before joining Red Bull and rising swiftly through the ranks. In a sport long dominated by men, she has shattered stereotypes with her calm authority and razor-sharp strategic thinking, guiding her team to multiple Grand Prix and championship victories. She made history as the first female strategist to lead a team to a race win.
Hannah has been making headlines once again, celebrated as the “secret weapon” behind Red Bull’s championship success – and we couldn’t be prouder to feature her on our Wall of 150 Women.
Her journey is a powerful example of female empowerment, inspiring women and girls to pursue careers in motorsport, engineering, and STEM with confidence, resilience, and unapologetic brilliance.
Hannah shares, “I was always curious about how things work and loved cars. At school, I had some amazing support and encouragement from teachers that opened my eyes to the world of engineering, they were my inspiration.” – Sky Sports.
