The Ivy Link Spring Coffee Morning 2025
April 7, 2025
On Thursday 27 March, Ms Davies hosted the annual Ivy Link Spring Coffee Morning for our alumnae and former staff from Class of 1950-1964.
The occasion was set up in the Holt Hall foyer with rows of tables decorated with blooming daffodils, glazed hot cross buns, chocolatey Easter cakes and fluffy carrot cake. As the teas and coffees were flowing, the alumnae and staff were happily sharing their stories and tales from the past with our amazing Lower Sixth pupils.
Our nearest and dearest alumnae, Ann Stranack, finally met her Ivy Letter writer, Ivy E (Year 9). Ivy Letters is a co-curricular club whereby current pupils write letters to our alumnae and discuss anything and everything, from how times have changed at Croydon High School to learning more about one another’s lives. The exchanges have been wonderful, and it was a joy to see Mrs Sheila Plant who was very pleased to hand deliver her letter to Mahi K (Year 8).
After the refreshments, we invited our guests into the Holt Hall where Ms Davies gave a warm welcome, updating our guests on all the latest news from the school, including our very exciting visit from HRH The Duchess of Gloucester last month, in which she shared a video of the visit.
As the coffee morning was drawing to a close, we were entertained by Ivy B (Year 8) who performed Where is Love? from Oliver!. Ivy played the character Oliver in this year’s production back in February. Maggie G (Year 6) effortlessly performed On a Summer Evening by Gordan Jacon on the flute and Ellie P (Year 6) beautifully performed Nocturne in C Sharp Minor by Chopin on the piano.
Thank you to everyone who came to this wonderful occasion with particular thanks to our catering team, premises team and the Sixth Form pupils.
