Careers Evening 2022

On Wednesday, we hosted our biannual Careers Evening for pupils in Years 9-Upper Sixth. Despite the weather, we had a great turnout, and alumnae, parents and friends of the school shared their career experiences with pupils. There were some inspiring talks during the evening, including a panel discussion on work/life balance and a Q&A with four alumnae who have founded their own businesses. There was also an opportunity to learn more about applying to university and the kinds of courses available in Higher Education.

We were joined by delegates from a wide range of career sectors, including Technology, Construction, Healthcare, Law and Finance. We also had delegates representing more unusual careers, including Bespoke Tailoring and Professional Show Jumping. Thank you to all our delegates for sharing their insights.

We had some brilliant feedback from students. A Lower Sixth student who joined the Technology talk by Aydin Betez (Chief Product Officer at Supercede) came away feeling really inspired and better informed about how to prepare for a career in Technology. Chatting to Leila Green (Business Co-founder at Known Publishing) gave a group of Year 11 students some real insight and inspiration to start their own businesses one day. Delegates said they had some great conversations, and they were impressed with the confidence and enthusiasm of our pupils. Pupils went away inspired and informed.
