All Aboard the Windrush Workshop

As part of our ongoing learning for Black History Month, we were delighted to welcome Cristal from Big Foot Arts Education to the Junior School to offer us a dramatic insight into the journey of the Empire Windrush. She took us back in time and delivered an engaging performance which highlighted the emotional voyage many people experienced as they left their home countries for the ‘Motherland’.

Year 5 and 6 also had the opportunity to delve deeper into the experiences of the Windrush generation during some exciting drama workshops.

“I enjoyed the freeze-framing activity where we showed scenes on board the ship.”
