Phonics Workshop
On Wednesday evening, we held the first of our Junior School Parent Talks. This week’s was Phonics, expertly led by Mr Eaton. He led us through a fun and engaging workshop to share why and how Phonics is taught at Croydon High Junior School. This was followed by an example lesson where parents got to experience first-hand the types of activities their daughters do. The workshop involved lots of audience participation, including dancing to Kylie Minogue for a ‘dough disco’ warm up, impersonating blackbirds and a tricky word team race!
A huge thank you to Mr Eaton and all the staff who made the evening possible, and to the brave parents for fully immersing themselves into the world of Phonics!
