We Will Rock You performance update

The stage is set.

The costumes have been fitted.

The lights are up.

The camera is ready.

There’s no live audience, but as Freddie Mercury himself sang, “The Show Must Go On”. And it certainly will at Croydon High.

We Will Rock You (often abbreviated as WWRY) is a jukebox musical based on the songs of British rock band Queen with a book by Ben Elton. The show tells the story of a group of Bohemians who struggle to restore the free exchange of thought, fashion, and live music in a distant future where everyone dresses, thinks and acts the same. Musical instruments and composers are forbidden, and rock music is all but unknown. Galileo and Scaramouche are on a mission to overthrow the Globalsoft Corporation, headed by the evil Killer Queen and her sidekick Khashoggi.

Our incredible cast from Years 10-Sixth Form are finally treading the boards following a term and a half of uncertainty, google meet rehearsals and recording studio time. With Elizabeth B, Shermya M, Alice M, Megan W, Sophie W and Tasia B starring for the final time at Croydon High School, filming began this week following a three-day get-in over half term.

We Will Rock You will be streamed at the following times:

Thursday 1 July at 7.00pm

Friday 2 July at 7.00pm

Saturday 3 July at 2.00pm

Saturday 3 July at 7.00pm
