Are you ready to take on the Captain Tom 100 Challenge?
Friday 30 April – Monday 3 May 2021
Captain Tom united the nation and gave hope when it was needed most. He inspired millions and his legacy lives on. His daughter, Hannah Ingram-Moore, recently sent a message to schools, in which she says:
“Captain Tom 100 invites everyone of all ages and abilities to dream up a challenge based around the number 100 and complete it in school on Friday 30 April or over Captain Tom’s birthday weekend through to Bank Holiday Monday 3 May”.
So, at school on Friday 30 April, the PE department are planning to incorporate the following activities into lessons:
- Swimming 100 lengths
- Running 100 metres (several times!)
- Scoring 100 rounders
- Hitting 100 balls in cricket
- Catching a ball 100 times
- Star jumps, skipping, hopping – all 100 times
Why not set your own challenge? You may decide to:
- learn to count to 100 in a foreign language
- write a 100-word poem
- give 100 compliments
- read for 100 minutes
- bounce a ball 100 times
- raising £100 for charity
