Croydon High crowned the GDST’s most active school

Fit Feb with Croydon High

Last Monday afternoon Croydon High School were announced champions of the GDST Get Active competition. It has been amazing how the Croydon High community engaged in this GDST initiative throughout February. Pupils, staff, parents and alumnae (both home and abroad, in Canada and Malaysia) all contributed to the mammoth 91,939.03km completed overall.

Croydon High School led from the first week and never looked back. All participants stepped up to the mark and regularly contributed to the cause whatever the weather. Momentum grew throughout the month with various fantastic individual and family challenges set and accomplished. Half term turned into marathon week with many students completing the 42.195km marathon distance. Several impressive cycle rides were completed, an ultramarathon, 1000km for a family and also an individual cyclist.

The Strava group grew to well over 200 keen athletes and twice we recorded over 1000km in one day whilst also creating some interesting map diagrams!

Not only have we all been busy getting active, we have also helped support several fantastic charities. There is still time to support these causes, if you would like to make a donation, please see below for further information and to find out how you can make a donation if you so wish.

February has been a fabulous month for Croydon High – the passion, enthusiasm and  community spirit that resonates throughout has shone through.

A massive thank you to all pupils, families, staff, and alumnae, who pulled together to achieve this fantastic accolade!
