Years 9 and 10 Hidden Figures Movie Afternoon

On Wednesday 7th October, Year 9 attended a screening of the movie Hidden Figures. The film focuses on the lives of three women who worked at NASA in the 1960s. The three pioneering women – Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson – worked in the fields of Mathematics, Computer Programming and Engineering during the height of the space race.

The movie itself promotes the positive message that no matter what your gender or race, Mathematics is a subject that anyone can excel in.
