Ready 4 Reception

On Friday, we were proud to host a ‘Ready for Reception’ afternoon in the Early Years. We welcomed our new starters for September, our current Nursery girls, and their parents to join us for a taster afternoon of what it will be like for their daughter when they move up to Reception.

A highlight of the afternoon was a visit from the current Upper Sixth who shared their pictures from their first day in Reception at Croydon High. They were able to talk to the girls about their favourite part of Reception and their journey through the junior school and onto the Seniors.

We themed the afternoon around our current topic of ‘Growing’ and focused on our newest members of Reception, the six ducklings that are currently with us. There were squeals of excitement as we passed the ducklings around for cuddles and then watched as they swam around in our water area. The girls also enjoyed completing a range of activities and they were thrilled to have their faces painted. We had a wonderful afternoon, the girls left with large smiles and there was excitement in the air about joining the Reception classes in September.
