An offer well worth celebrating

Lauren is celebrating the offer of an engineering undergraduate sponsorship from the UK construction division of Lendlease.  In addition to receiving a monthly bursary for the duration of her engineering degree, Lauren is guaranteed salaried work experience during her summer holidays and for her industrial placement year. After graduation, Lendlease offer a structured graduate development scheme that will help Lauren achieve her goal of becoming a chartered engineer.

Lauren used last year’s careers conference at Croydon High to target and speak with engineers and was fortunate to meet alumna Aimee-Jane Davies (2006), an engineer at Lendlease.  This meeting led to a successful work placement over the summer on the building site of Google’s new London headquarters, and an invitation to apply for their undergraduate sponsorship programme.

The construction arm of Lendlease has delivered some of the world’s most exciting and iconic buildings, including the London Olympic Village, Bluewater shopping centre, Canary Wharf, the Lloyds Building and the Sydney Opera House. Earlier this year, Lendlease was named in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2018, following a range of the company’s initiatives and achievements to address gender equality issues.
