Out of the Mouths of Babes

I was asked to write about the highlights of our year at Little Ivy’s Stay and Play. But what have been the highlights? Was it the Christmas party, the 5th anniversary or the teddy bears’ picnic? Perhaps it was one of the craft activities from our themes of animals, winter, spring, the seaside or minibeasts. Or maybe a ‘fun’ sensory activity like pasta or cornflour play or jelly play. Oh, but there was the visit from Babyballet and parachute play, the new playground, playdough, singing, bubbles… This was difficult, this was impossible! I needed help with my quandary, I needed help from an expert… so I consulted one of our toddlers: ‘What did you like best at Little Ivy’s Stay and Play?’ I asked. Their reply was, ‘EVERYTHING!’ Everything is ‘the best’ because everyone at Croydon High supports Little Ivy’s: Catering provide us with delicious cakes and biscuits in the shape of a teddy or a butterfly, Reception share their toys, Nursery come and sing to us and Year 6 set up our 4D room. A BIG thank you to Croydon High staff and children and a final thank you to toddlers and carers at Little Ivy’s for creating a lovely community.
