From the outset, Croydon High has been committed to enabling girls to celebrate their unique qualities and talents, with confidence. In 1874, our founding Headmistress, Dorinda Neligan, encouraged Croydon High girls to wear ivy in their hair to their first GDST prizegiving, ensuring they stood out and celebrated their successes with pride. This ethos is the foundation upon which the school is built and the ivy remains very much a part of our identity today.

We understand that choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make and securing their happiness is paramount. We know this is also the key to success; we are committed to being a community where people matter, where every voice is important and where every opportunity should be grasped. 

We are a dynamic and forward-thinking school, working together to ensure our girls are real-world ready. Of course, we are rightly proud of our excellent public examination results, but we are also focused on the development of essential skills and attributes, such as creativity, flexibility, resilience and leadership, as well as a positive ‘can do’ approach.
