|Despite its' name, Croydon High School is actually in Selsdon, in the southern suburbs of the London Borough of Croydon.|
It is a quiet, pleasant town with good access from most parts of Croydon and the surrounding areas. The nearest train stations are South Croydon and Sanderstead and there are good bus and tram links with the nearest tram stop a short bus ride away at Gravel Hill.
Selsdon has a wide range of shops and restaurants and the local "Selsdon Park Hotel" backs on to the school grounds. It was here that the "Selsdon Group" was formed in 1973, which lead the then Prime Minister, Harold Wilson to coin the phrase "Selsdon Man".
